Please post, I'd like to visit Barnes & Noble(book store) within the next 2 hours!
I've read every book I have and am in need of something new.
Can anyone recommend a decent book/series? I like most genres, though I've been in the mood for something in the fantasy/medieval genres lately.
Notable books & series I've read are:
17 of the Chronicles of Gor books
All Inheritance Series books
All Wizard of EarthSea books
All Lord of the Rings books
The Wasp Factory
Emergency by Neil Strauss
-and various other books.
(I haven't read the Harry Potter series yet, are they worth the read?)
The Harry Potter books are pretty good. If you enjoy the concept at all they're well written.
I quite enjoyed 1984, Brave New World, Snow Crash, the Halo books...
I've also been meaning to look into the Sword of Truth series for.. years, now.
I don't think trying out the Harry Potter series is a bad idea... I have never really read a full Harry Potter book, However, Many people I know have, and they all say it is a wonderful series. I have also seen every movie so far, and they are great as well!
Sword of Truth series looks rather interesting, I might check those out, if they're to be found at my local Barnes & Noble.
I might end up picking up the first 2 or 3 Harry Potter books, to give them a shot.
read anything by terry pratchet. particularly the discworld series.
if that doesn't get you, look for 'the dresden files'.
or, if THOSE don't work, look up these two books: 'epic' and 'saga'.
There you go.

Out of The Silent Planet and the rest of The Space Trilogy.
The Wheel of Time series, damn good stuff
Les Miserables
Let The Right One In
1984 and Anthem
Both were good but creepy as fuck
Dantes inferno or Cthulhu maybe?
Fahrenheit 451
Masters of Doom
Casino Royale (the original by Ian Fleming), hell why not the whole Bond series?
You'll absolutely love the Wheel of Time series, one of the best fantasy series I've read.
Oh also, The Hobbit by Tolkien!

Harry Potter series are worth reading, yeah, atleast I thought so... Ofcourse I was like 8 years old when I started reading the series.
I'm reading Catch - 22 at the moment. It's hard to read because the plot is pretty much absent but it's clever and interesting.
Also, a Clockwork Orange is a good read.
If you like Science Fiction I've heard good things about the Culture novels.
If you like Fantasy and are fairly young I loved the Edge Chronicles.
Is Dune by Frank Herbert a good read? I have been considering it but wasn't sure if it was worth my time.
Oh yeah, I've always had a hard time enjoying HP. Lovecrafts works. That is probably because I'm 14, but his novel The Shadow Over Innsmouth is just really really exciting.
Ender's Game.
Read the Dark Tower series by Stephen King. It's like some weird combination of Fantasy, sci-fi and, western.
