Also, females when?
That triangle shit is genius, I don't know howie came up with it
Oh man, those foundations.

oh my god. I want to build a fort by the sea in the snowy biome and light it well to be a trading post and lighthouse (as if there were shipping lanes across the water). Warm and well-lit inside, grim outside.

Okay never mind, I want that to be the lighthouse to which I append my trading fort. Goddamn, Facepunch's concept artists need to save a bit of awesome for the rest of the planet.

I need new pants now and it's all over the floor. Make things like this happen as landmark spawns in Rust and we're golden. Experimental is shaping up so awesomely. Kudos to the team!
Also, welcome back, Helk! We missed you! [IMG]http://www.facepunch.com/fp/ratings/heart.png[/IMG]
[sp]also lol at certain overly-opinionated idiots in the blog comments after finding both FP and Reddit hostile to their whining shit[/sp]
CAUTION
Not for extended use. Possible side effects include blindness, aggression, an uncontrollable desire to make racist or sexist jokes, loss of penis and death, but I'm sure it'll never happen to you so stop complaining.
I just read those syringes closely. Meg please never stop. :v:
Will be pretty hard to get the player-created buildings to somewhat fit in with the landmarks.
Those are some neat syringes.
Good thing I don't have a fear of needles.

Well they haven't implemented metal player structures yet, only wood, those should fit better.

Still anything the user will create will never look like anything in those concept-art drawings.
At least not with the current building system.
Its a sort off high-detail/low-detail thing, rather then the texture/material.

I think that's kind of the point of the landmarks, though.
Still yet, I can now build a round church, so I'm pretty happy.
They should be different/unique without looking out of place tho.
They should be different/unique without looking out of place tho.
You know, I don't really mind them looking out of place, honestly. Think about it, we're primitive "cavemen," as Garry likes to call the Player. These landmarks are going to have been built at a time when the infrastructure and machinery was available. We're building little log huts with our hands. There's going to be a pretty big difference in build quality, just because of the way the game is set up.
Rust finally has my interest. The Rust community does not.
They should be different/unique without looking out of place tho.
I think if/when they add some decorative doo-dads and bits for the player to spruce up their bases with, they'll fit in quite well, instead of being just wooden/metal boxes.
I also really hope they add some building tools to really make those "landmarks" habitable. I would love to see something like arctic towns being built out of sheet metal surrounding an abandoned lighthouse that's been turned into a sort of town center, or a whole town being built upon a beached ship (i.e Rivet City).
The landmarks, particularly the lighthouse, remind me of those resin models you put in the bottom of home aquariums.
I always like the skeleton that opens and closes the treasure chest with air bubbles.
Great game so far, shit community. But it doesn't get better by just complaining about it... :(

Yeah you should probably stop playing
I love how before it the solution to "less square buildings" was combining meshes together and all this complicated shit then its just triangles.
Brilliant.
Looks like the Hazmat suit currently makes you pretty much invulnerable.
Something that irritates me with the log building pieces is that they still have bark on them.

I agree, maybe in the stages from wood to metal there is a refined wood hopefully. Making it smoother and harder or something. Or just for purely visual I wouldn't mind.
