Like never seen in a game before.
Oh man, it's almost like every game since STALKER haven't had this before!
guys its okay they have a revolutionary dog and fish ai system integrated into the brand new call of duty experience
Loving all this new technology like HDR!
I feel like they're using too much bloom to cover up some pretty low-res textures.
Looks like how it used to, except with even higher poly gun models, slightly more varied colors and HDR.
it looks really nice imo, although it's a bit weird to see old tech being branded as next gen Also why would you subdivide an object as dumb as a weapon (which is mostly flat, aside from the scopes and stuff) ~three times? Wouldn't that use a lot of live resources for a very small gain in detail? Especially when normal mapping can take care of that easily. Either way I don't get why people are shitting on this so much, it's still a nice upgrade overall

"Next Gen" turned into a buzzword for me following the release of Lost Coast for Half Life 2, which is when they introduced HDR into the game engine, along with some other improvements to AI. Since then everytime I hear the words "next gen", I just look at it as a polished up current gen, they've thrown nothing new into the existing market. Give us some proper water caustics when walking through it and maybe you could consider it a next gen 'improvement', but it isn't by any means a glimpse of what's around the corner.
I don't care for this series, but the hate it gets doesn't seem justified. This looks like some pretty impressive stuff to me when you consider the hardware and FPS its meant to run on.
Looks nice for CoD, but really? HDR? It's like one of those kids whose dad buys him a toy he's never seen before and brings it in to show his friends, only to find out the toy was already popular a while ago and nobody cares.
GUYS THE SCOPE IS PERFECTLY ROUND!
holy shit they learned how to make LODs
holy shit they learned how to make LODs
Actually on 360/PS3 it was more efficent to NOT make LODs due to memory constraints

Looks pretty, but i didnt expect sledgehammer to talk about graphics as much as they have. Call of duty has always been about gameplay...($10 says they hired a BF3 designer to do the talking lol)
Congrats IW, you've just pretended to invent LOD technology.
They finally found out about HDR, tessellation, and LOD. I wonder if we can expect our shitty console ports to look decent next year.
It's nice, but I expected to see shit like this in games from 2010, 2011.
to clear it up SUB-D =/= Tessellation =/= LOD LOD has been around forever, tessellation has only recently been feasible with DX11, and SUB-D wasn't really a realtime thing before Call of Duty Ghosts, impressively enough
