Well, if someone could help me I'd appreciate it a lot. I don't understand how to work these. Here's one of the problems.
5x + 2 = 2x - 10
I understand X is supposed to be the same, but I'm not sure how to work it. Thanks for any help you can give me. :saddowns:
Are you in 7th grade.

Ninth. If you can't help, don't post.
5x + 2 = 2x - 10
Subtract 2x from both sides.
3x + 2 = -10
Subtract 2 from both sides.
3x = -12
Divide both sides by 3
x = -4

Algebra 1 in NINTH? Whoa.
Anyways, fuck. x = -4.
5x + 2 = 2x - 10
-2x -2x
3x + 2 = -10
-2 -2
3x = -12
/3 /3
x = -4
Oh, I see now. Thanks, a lot.

Yeah I'm not sure what happened. Now we have Algebra 1 in seventh and eighth grade for some. We didn't before this though. I guess it's just how this school was set up.
