I really have no clue about music players, I know there are MP3's, MP4's, iPods, etc, but I don't know the main difference between them and the pricing. I'm looking for something not too expensive, which can hold a fair number of songs (more than 2 GB is quite more than enough), I also want to listen to those songs while running or jogging or whatever so it'll have to be something that I can fit into my pocket, but it wouldn't fall out or get in the way, and the earplug thingies should also sit comfortably without falling out if I'm running or jogging, etc.

MP3's + 4's aren't the best. But they fit their function. If you want music, and pretty much, JUST music. Get one, they're cheap and somewhat reliable. If you want something to distract you, and keep your attention other than just the music, get an iPod. Of course more expensive, but they're much better built and worth while. It's all basically what you want from your music player.
I took a quick google search and the iPod shuffle seems to be designed for exercise, it's just a little above my price range, but if it's reliable and good, I guess I'll buy that instead of getting something cheaper that won't fit me as well, what do you guys say?

Even though I'm not an Apple fanboy, I still have to say that the iPod classic has been ultimately the best mp3 player I have ever bought. These shouldn't cost so much anymore, since they've been replaced by the iPod Touch. [editline]27th January 2011[/editline] ughh, disregard all of that. Did some 5 second research on the prices at eBay, and they still cost roughly as much as what they did brand new. I think you're good with a Shuffle.
Wait, 2GB is all you have? I have that much in Pink Floyd.
I recommend getting a Sony Walkman. I have one and it's awesome. Works nice, supports a lot of music types. I also have an iPod Shuffle. If I could I would send it to you (for a price of course).
The Shuffle is overpriced, I think. Get one of dem Walkmans. My mom has one, and it's great...
Would anyone recommend this? http://www.sony.co.uk/product/nws-w-series/nwz-w252
The huge capacity iPod classics (120/160gb) are good value for money.
The huge capacity iPod classics (120/160gb) are good value for money.
Yeah but I don't need that much space, if I have like 16 GB It'll never be full. All I want is something with say ~4GB, cheap, fits comfortably somewhere on my body as I run/jog/do exercise, and with a minimum of 2 hour battery time. Out of these, the cheapness is something I can most easily forget about, I mean, I don't have a problem buying something that's not as cheap if it's very reliable and has very good reviews, etc.
iPod Shuffle is the way to go. inb4getoutfanboy
I think the biggest problem you're going to have is with headphones slipping out of your ears as you exercise. If I were in your situation I'd get a Sansa Clip and some headphones that wrap around the top of your ears.
I swim a lot, and use a Speedo Aquabeat MP3 player. Otherwise, I just use my phone. SanDisk Sansa is the way to go for running, though. EDIT: First time posting since I signed up my new account all that time ago. What the hell is with the avatar change? D;

You've already missed the Hoff phase.
