Yeah, I went to buy Mass Effect about a year ago as I'd never played it.
I bought it for twenty dollars and went home expecting a great story and fun gameplay.
Well, I got neither. I didn't play through it because it was FRENCH. It had the english title, english back and english manual, but it was FRENCH.
They didn't give me my money back. :smith:

It changed my life
At first I didn't like it, but after I got past the fact that it is a hybrid between an RPG and a 3rd Person shooter, I found that the game was quite enjoyable, so much so that I still playing every now and again. But trust me, the second one is a bit different from the first, so if you liked the demo for ME2, then you might or might not like the first one, since it is a bit more like an RPG then the sequel.
They are two awesome games, but i must say, that i find the sequel to be more action intense than the first one. But still, two really great games

First mass effect is meh. Second one is WOW. Third one should be suck-your-dick good if the jump from the first to the second is any indication.

I agree, I was kinda hoping ME2 was a turn based RTS. So disappointed.
One of the best games I've ever played, It has awesome music, tense combat and sweet cutscenes. Also some pretty nice dialogue and fuck yerrr mirandas ass.

Personally, I thought the first Mass Effect was a pretty mediocre game.
The second one on the other hand was fantastic.
mass effect is pretty great. the driving missions get a little tiresome, but its still a good-ass game.

Personally, I think ME was better than ME2. But ME2 is still goddamn amazing, so yeah, Mass Effect is good.
I just got the second one for Christmas. Reading this thread makes me want to play it more and more.
I just completed the second one two days ago. Was fucking intense.
This is actually the only game series to make me go "Holy shit how the hell is my team going to survive THIS."
Sure, gordon can fight his way through aliens shit and have scientists tell him UR DOOMED, but you never listen. Mass Effect is the first game to actually make me believe that it was just me versus the universe. And it was fucking awesome.
