GTA4 or GTA:SA - General - Facepunch Forum

I'm going to be able to buy one of these games in a few days, on steam. I have played both on the consoles, and i love both, but what is an overall better game, in terms of mods and gameplay?

Get both, they are both freaking awesome.

SA first, as after IV, it'll be just too goofy for you.

Both are great.

I love the RP in samp.

SA is the best gta game in terms of everything but storyline because Vice City had the best one.

Get none, both suck.

You can still get SA-MP (and MTA, or any other mods) to work with the Steam version, you just have to put in slightly more effort with google. Either way, you still have to downgrade it for any mods.

San Andreas has the best soundtrack in my opinion and it can also run on your computer better so I'd go with that.

San Andreas. It was GTA in it's prime.

GTA4 is the better story game, GTASA is a better sandbox game. Both are excellent.

Gta4. I got a horrible glitch in GTA:SA after entering a tank. CJ was transparent all over the screen in the T position.

SA is more fun, the mission the characters. (Big smoke is the best) and you can customize the shit out of your guy. And SAMP is still fun.

Although im banned on mostly all rp servers. fucking crazybobs.

I like the mods for san andreas. And it was just so much fun killing random people,do stupid stuff. GTA IV got pretty realstic physics, nice graphics and cool mission. Fewer mods though.

GTA: SA was the most fun I had in a PS2/PC game ever. The sheer size if the landscape, number of Easter Eggs, missions, customizables, and details put into it is a testament to Rockstar's ability as game developers. GTAIV had a big budget but it's main downfall for me is that it's too realistic. I don't want to play as some whiny Serbian dude with an annoying cousin. I'd rather play as a street smart black dude that can lead a cross country man hunt and live to tell about it.

Also CJ was the first "human" that rockstar did. Claude didn't speak, Tommy was like an ice cold scarface, But CJ was more of a human, he is actually afraid of some pepole, like tenpenny. Though he still kills shit.

GTAIV for mods and MP (it's fine on Steam for this too.) SA is good, if you can find it cheap in a bargain bin. Not worth the price it's on Steam for, plus it's harder to mod with the Steam version.

Gta 4 because GTA:SA freezes up every 5 minutes for me.

San Andreas, cause it's the perfect sandbox, you can do anything. and skydiving is better in SA imo.

San andreas is much better. If you choose IV you're most likely 12 or younger.
