Its about time they added in bipods. I mean really, a milsim without bipods
The weapon resting, bracing and bipod system really changed the way you approach a firefight in this game. Made them a lot more static, deadly and accurate but also increases the amount of effectiveness you can get out of a well-calculated, daring assault. I like it. Also the new sound system is good. Like, very good. Like, Battlefield BC2 good, almost. [editline]9th April 2015[/editline] Also the new anti-personel precision rifles feel amazing, it always seemed dumb that the only long-range weapons in ARMA III were anti-materiel rifles, which felt like crazy overkill where a lighter, faster and less-recoiling rifle would do. And the heavy GPMGs are loverly for when you need to eliminate an entire squad in five seconds flat if they're unaware of you, or force out someone who think they're safely entrenched in some building or MRAP.
I tried going through a bit of the campaign with the new update, honestly the bipods/weapon resting can be extremely finnicky at times, like a rock being just a bit too tall in the wrong places to actually shoot anything that isn't it, and not being able to deploy on anything but the ground when you're prone - When you're prone on the downslope of a hill and there's a rock under your gun (Which would allow you to be "flat"), that's what it should deploying on. They'll no doubt end up ironing a lot of these things out though, and it already feels better than vts_weaponresting. The new sounds are also brilliant.
