Pre-ordered, hell yeah.
Sadly the prices in euros are pretty much 1dollar=1euro.
Sadly the prices in euros are pretty much 1dollar=1euro.
Worth it.
Worth it.
They're paying more for it than we are. So it's not fair either way. [editline]10th April 2012[/editline] Should I just get it now or wait for it to be on steam? As far as I know you just download the game from their website, no drm client like steam or origin, is that right?

Edit: Actually dunno where I got that idea, all the other Guild Wars games are on there.
I don't think it's going to be on steam. Edit: Actually dunno where I got that idea, all the other Guild Wars games are on there.
They said no pre-purchases will be on steam. But after that they went back and said that doesn't mean it wont come to steam on the launch.
Can't wait.
60 euros? That's ok I didn't want it that much anyway
Man, that's expensive. I could buy any other MMO and get several months for that price.
Anybody know if Gamestop preorder will include beta access and all that? I have a gift card I'm pretty sure NCsoft won't take.
Anybody know if Gamestop preorder will include beta access and all that? I have a gift card I'm pretty sure NCsoft won't take.
Yes.
Wonder if it'll go on STEAM. If not, think I can get Beta access if I run down to my local gamestop and slap down five bucks for the preorder? Plan on getting the game, but I'd rather do it either via STEAM or brick and mortar. [editline]10th April 2012[/editline]
Yes.
Exactly a minute before I ask.
Man, that's expensive. I could buy any other MMO and get several months for that price.
On the other hand, you don't have to buy months at all for this MMO.
I'd buy the Collector's Edition if I could. Too bad it isn't available anywhere here.
Holy hell that's more a lot more expensive than I thought it would be.

[editline]10th April 2012[/editline] Exactly a minute before I ask.
Will most likely be on steam on or after the launch date. So no beta and probably no 3 day early access. [editline]10th April 2012[/editline] And according to google 60 euros is about 78 dollars. So they have to pay deluxe edition price for the standard.
So yesterday it was $50 and grayed out, and the European prices were nowhere to be found on the official website, and now it can be bought, but it's EUR 55 all of a sudden. Look, ArenaNet, I'll buy your game, but please stop using these shitty gimmicks, it makes you look bad.
so.... tempted.. must wait.. to.. read... reviews... arghghg, too many games to buy (and I'm already paying for 2 EVE accounts).
Pre-purchase or pre-order? there is a difference apparently.
Pre-purchase or pre-order? there is a difference apparently.
One refers to buying online at full price early. The other is just putting down $5 or so at a gamestop, which gets you 1 day of early access instead of 3.
£50 for the standard game? No chance.
£50 for the standard game? No chance.
You have to consider that it's a fully functional mmo with NO monthly fees. In the long run it's cheaper than any other paid mmo. Though I will wait for a trial.
I don't get why you guys are whining about the price. It is not hard to pay for a game with a one time fee and no subscription for $60. Lets compare to WoW and SW:TOR on release. WoW was $50 iirc on release plus the subscription and SW:TOR was $60 on release with subscription fees ($15 a month by month basis). This is a killer deal if anything.
They're complaining because that price doesn't translate to Euros like it should
Hmm I see, that is a bit of a bummer. Perhaps they will adjust the price but that is a lot of hope to give for a commercial game. I feel sorry for you Europeans but if you plan on buying this game because you loved GW1 I see it as a good investment.
You have to consider that it's a fully functional mmo with NO monthly fees. In the long run it's cheaper than any other paid mmo. Though I will wait for a trial.
Yet GW1 on release was only £30 and they will make their money through micro-transactions and expansions. Just because "there's no online fee" doesn't excuse it. That and as said, the exchange rate is basically 1:1. GBP Prices - USD Prices - Current conversion rate - £40 is what I expect to pay for a standard edition.
wow what a shitty exchange rate why do americans get it cheaper than europeans?
I am really tired at the moment but does it say that if you pre-order you get beta access?
Anyone got a link to a timetable for the beta weekends so I can see if its worth it?
