Okay FP, problem here.
I sleep too well.
I hate it. I want to stay up and not fall asleep within 5 minutes, but as soon as I'm under the covers I'm out like a light really quickly. I don't want to sleep. I want to stay up and think and ponder and fantasise. At the same time, I would like to be comfortable, as in I can't just sit in a chair all day.
Anyone have any ideas?
Get multiple pillows so you're propped up a little, drink some coffee (or other preferred caffeine drink)
Damn you man, I wish I could sleep, but instead I'am awake pondering and or reading most of the night...
I've only found that you stay awake if you want to sleep, and you fall asleep quick if you want to stay awake

Sounds good, but I'm extremely resistant to caffeine.
You need to have quite an active mind. Often I find it difficult to sleep when I've got lots of things to think about. IMO, watch lots of videos that you're interested in. I often end up watching lots of sciencey videos, which keep me up thinking.

I have an overactive mind. But whenever I hit the bed, boy do I nod off quickly. It's weird. Often I'm thinking really fast and then *lights out*.
If you prop up one of your legs by sticking your knee up in the air while lying on your back, it makes it harder to go to sleep. For me, at least.
Drink drinks consisting of caffeine, such as tea or coffee.
Its really hard to force your body to do something it doesn't wanna do. if you pass out quickly it probably means you need the rest. but anyway, prop yourself up on some pillows, like previously suggested, and try maybe eating an apple or something while you ponder. keep your body engaged in something while you are both comfortable and awake.
how do you fall asleep within 5 minutes? I don't even have insomnia but it takes me 45 minutes minimum of complete stillness. been like that my entire life
switch circadian rhythm behavior with me
Can we trade? I'd love to go to bed and just go to sleep within 5 minutes.
Seriously, sometimes I only sleep like 2-3 hours, because I can't shut my brain down.
I'd fucking love to trade, I hate sleeping.
I wouldn't wanan have it either. My mom has it. She sleeps even while doing stuff like watching videos or even when talking on the phone. I can only recommend caffeine or doing stuff that makes you somewhat active, Though you'll get yourself tired after doing so.
Shit your pants
Think about it, if you have shitty pants you'll never want to sleep it'll be to uncomfortable
I just force my body to stay awake. Eventually my body sort of gives up and my tiredness disappears.
Amnesia or Penumbra.
100% guaranteed not to fall asleep easily when going to bed
dont use blankets; wear a jumper if youre cold
avoid anything too snuggly or comfortable
sit up
keep lights on
have some sort of noise playing, such as a tv
watch/read something interesting to keep you thinking and to keep your attention
get up every now and then and walk around the house for a little while
play loud music (use headphones if you live with others)
turn a fan on, if you have a slightly chill in your room you become more awake

Energy drinks only have about 30mg of caffeine per 100ml, get some 200mg pills instead:

Seriously what you have is a gift, that many people would pay good money to have.
Personally, I hate being awake for hours and hours doing nothing but pondering about all the shit you have done (or haven't). It's not something pleasant, it's just plain annoying, especially if you think about the same shit over and over again.
It comes easily enough for me at least, although it sounds like Facepunch has a lot of trouble sleeping.

I bet most people here have problems going to sleep because they shut down their PC and immediatly go to bed. I did the same thing.
Nowadays I shut the PC down 2 hours before I go to sleep, worked wonders already.
I go to bed, listen to music and sing along. Keeps me awake.
Modafinil.
