Cool, although I don't see why you wouldn't just use a debit card.

You don't see the point in Gift cards?
He has no friends or family, just spends all his time locked up in his basement, occasionally ordering a pizza.

You're not very bright.
In Russia, debit/credit/even gift cards are rather unpopular. However, I can see much use in this service, though, especially since you can pay your phone/bills there as well.

I'm sure an American totally knows about what is and isn't popular in Russia.

Most of Facepunch are under the age to get or even be approved a credit card.
Therefore, what you say doesn't apply to, what, lets say 90% of us here?
Yeah, you could get an adult or someone with a credit card to make purchases for you, if they approve of what you're getting. Good luck sucking up to tight-ass parents to get the GTA weekend sale if you're young.
Okay, Get bank accounk then link it to paypal? Also I was referring to prepaid credit cards which are not hard to get if you're around 15 by my definition means you're not a child assuming you're not a complete idiot when it comes to money and have no clue of the value of currency.

Well, listen and learn, then.

Euhm can't you pay directly with your online bank account on steam?

You have to transfer the money into your Paypal account then pay with Paypal. I thought people knew these things.

I got a Visa Debit at only 14 (and it was my name on the card) and of course it is pretty much a credit card but limited to the money that you actually own. Is New Zealand different? Or would it just depend on the bank?
thats pretty cool, i wish we had that here.
I don't understand or get how people can be against this.
For me it just seems like they are ranting for the sake of having something to rant about. It's so stupid i want to leave the planet.

I got a debit card when I was 16 and according to Fast Threads polls, most of FP is at least 16

That's why debit cards exist.
I've been paying online for stuff since I've been like what, 13 or 14.

Steam adds an optional feature that doesn't affect you in any meaningful way but helps other people in other countries.
Complain about it.
I like how my friends who are not doing well at school are the ones who gets credit/debit cards
Some people in this thread seem to be under the impression that debit cards are the same everywhere.

More like the Fast Threads demographic is 16
Or even that, a good amount of people are probably lying

Clarifying this point for everyone, these "kiosks" are literally in every shop and corner around here, you can find them everywhere. Most of the people use it to put money on their cellphone, although it has a shitload of things to put your money on, from rent and police fines to MMORPG's. You can pay for nearly everything that's more or less popular. The companies who own the kiosks take huge tax percents off your payment and gain lods o emone everyday off your comfort.
Basically, it's the most comfortable way to put your money on something in Russia and is used by millions of people everyday. Even a child can touch the screen, put a bill in, and touch the screen again. And now imagine the profits of Valve when all the kids are running to their corner shop to buy TF2 hats whenever they get money.

I'd rather take a 5 minute busride or a 15 minute walk instead of a 40 minute bus drive to the nearest bank just to get a debit card.
that's my situation if this came to Norway.
