Does anyone actually use this over facebook? No-one I know uses it, though it is pretty cool.

I'm sure they won't do it with Google+, but at the same time I can't see people leaving facebook for it.

They only pull the plug on failures.
As long as Google+ can retain it's userbase it won't be canned.
I use Google+ for following people, much better than Twitter. I get people to post by mentioning them (ie: @John Freeman) so when they go to ANY Google site besides Youtube, they'll see the notification counter on the top right.
Maybe it's because I'm used to it already, but other than the circles, G+ have no benefits over Google Buzz.

If they integrated google+ into youtube a bit then it would definitely increase the userbase; it's a little weird how you sign into youtube with your google account but it's a whole different ecosystem.
It would be cool if your youtube videos were tied your your G+ account. They really need to overhaul the whole thing.

You always signed into Youtube with your Google, ever since Google bought Youtube and integrated it. I take it you never used gmail?

The thing I'm trying to say is that youtube isn't integrated like the other google services at all apart from signing in with a google account.

At least they admit their mistakes, unlike Microsoft which keeps a shelf worth of dead products still lurking around.
Is Facepunch getting a brand page?
