There is literally a big ass spot on the bottom right where it could go. What are they saying?
No it would not you dumbasses!
I'm looking at the XL right now and you could EASILY fit a 2nd analog stick in it as it currently is.
Seriously.....I personally think Nintendo is just being lazy now.
Or well wait.
"The choice, if we were going to include the second analog stick, was to reduce the size of the battery or make the unit much bigger
I guess that makes sense.
theres also probably not much room on the inside of the damn thing

how fucking big can the analog module even BE
Nice photoshop. Someone needs to send that to Nintendo and show them how stupid they are.

I'm sure that there is internal circuitry in the way, pretty certain that the thing isn't just hollow.
Well, if the circle pad pro and the original 3DS aren't as big as the 3DS XL, then it can't possibly be a problem of space.
Guys read the post holy fuck it says the internal components are the problem because the battery would take up too much space

This.
Jesus fuck, its not like they can just glue another analog stick onto the circuitry board.
Something with 2 screens, has 3D without glasses, and has pretty good graphics, and you think there is room to just slap another analog stick onto it?
The inside is probably as cramped as you can possibly make it already without the 2nd analog stick.
Why are they lying so much! :v:

Oh they aren't!

That photoshop is so good its actually in a higher quality than the original!
Yea, they can't just add a second analog stick. They have to make a Analog Stick Pro version for the 3DS XL.
the SD card slot is under the blank part under the Letter buttons.
the SD card slot is under the blank part under the Letter buttons.
But on the original 3DS the SD card slot is directly under the D-pad.
I'm not seeing a problem here.
Can't they just extend the back out a bit more? A tenth of an inch to get enough battery would be fine.
Same thing with the iPad. The original was fine, then they shrank it thin for less battery room. Why not fill the free space with more battery.
They are not trying to appease the FPS market with the 3DS so deal with it. We played video games with only one d-pad back then and we can still play with only one D-pad today
I dont understand why Nintendo keeps using SD cards, they are the reason you can easily softmod your wii in like 2 hours.
There's a reason it'd be called 3DS XL Nintendo should just make the 3DS bigger and add that 2nd analog. I know nobody would give a single fuck
You people act like it's as simple as gluing a circle piece of plastic onto the outside and calling it a functional analog stick.
It's not.

hey
hey
you know there's like
stuff inside the case
right?
A better question would be WHY ARE YOU MAKING NINTENDOS FOR THE HULK?

Well, I thought since it's an XL, they'd have a bit more space for the circuitry of a second analog stick.

Some people have big hands.
Yeah, the tech really isn't that different, since the screen is just upscaled, and it not actually at any higher resolution. The tech is all the same, so they clearly should have had a ton more room.
I can't wait to see how big this abomination gets with the Circle Pad pro XL.

I'm pretty sure other genres also use another analogue stick.
I understand that it's a matter of space, but can't they move the back out slightly to accommodate? I mean, most of the internals are the same from the regular 3DS right? Now that you've made it bigger for a bigger battery, why don't you try and move shit around for another analogue stick.
Plus, the lack of a second analogue stick is actually a pretty big problem for left-handed people. Without the second analogue stick, I have to use the face buttons as movement in games that require me to use a stylus. It'd be nice to also use an analogue stick.
Considering that the dual analog controllers have been popular for at least 16 years since the release of the PS1's upgraded controller, essentially every 3D anything has used it for camera control at least. Hell, even the N64's C buttons got used for that in many games. Now that we're onto a round of handhelds that they've begun to have full scale (IE, console quality games) releases onto them, it is about time that they caught up.

How big? I have pretty long hands and even a DSi fits in my hands great. The 3DS XL looks like a tablet already.

Probably the same people who liked these:
