• Please do my (interactive-ish) survey about music/hearing ability!

I have a project for school, and I'm trying to measure what kind of effect listening to music a lot has on hearing ability. You will require some sort of sound equipment to do it: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1tdcyL7htVWy3rxx2BOrpX5B9uLFjQKDLErEbT1IU_84/viewform There's a part where you have to listen to a few sound clips until you can hear the noise (frequency and amplitude response)... which might be mildly entertaining for you. I'm really grateful for all of your responses, thanks a lot guys.
This is interesting, please share the results.
I can post the results two days from now when my survey is over along with some other information like how the amount of time until you hear the pitch corresponds with what age group your hearing belongs to. If this thread is still alive I'll post it here, otherwise, I'll consider making another thread (if the results are interesting, maybe even in GD?).
Done, a bit hard to tell since I had to do it on my laptop speakers and my laptop speakers are rather noisy but should be about as accurate as I can get :v:
Interested to see the results, I've always done my best to protect my hearing, curious to see how others in my age group do
Did better in the hearing test than I expected as I have done self-testing before, but this due to calibration might get more realistic results, excited to see the results! Also I have a ringing in my ear now thanks :v:
Took part in your survey, since I couldn't fill it in properly I'll fill in a few details here for you incase it's relevant. My primary audio device is a Computer with a Stereo Speaker setup. My OS is at 67% Speaker System can go up to 80% more volume I think, it doesn't really have any proper markings, best I can say is that I have it at roughly 10% as default, maybe a littler higher when listening to music. Had it at roughly 20% to match the calibration sound. I could hear only one noticeable to me pitch shift, after that my brain kept making up false pitch shifts. I also suffer from Auditory Processing Disorder so that could be a factor. I have previously worked in a factory environment with heavy machinery (salad packing, washing, etc) and had to wear ear protection. In my current job I do not have to wear ear protection but I work alongside two baking ovens for bread that rattle, wail and hum all day long quit loudly. Hope this helps in some way.
