Deaf or Blind? - General - Facepunch Forum

I'm interested in this topic. Most people prefer to be deaf rather than blind.

Deaf; I love my sight way more than hearing how shitty life is anyways.

Deaf, though I would hate living without sound too, no music, and music is alot for me.

Deaf, I would still be able to play games.

Blind. I don't want to see this world anymore.

I'd rather be deaf than blind. I already have really poor vision so I appreciate being able to see things. Having poor vision already makes it difficult to function. Being totally blind would be far worse. Being deaf would make things more difficult and would mean I'd no longer be able to listen to music (which I spent plenty of time doing) but it'd be easier to continue functioning. Deaf. It would be realllyyy tough to lose either, but in the end I value my eyesight just a little bit more.

I have double vision so blindness would take away the obstacle for me. Also, I would never be able to cope without music. I'd be fine with being deaf and having an implant though to hear.

My mom is deaf in one ear and almost deaf in the other, she is happy and successful. Plus the deaf community is like a family and there are tons of different technologies to help hearing disabled people. Being blind would make even simple tasks more difficult, deaf people can be independent without near as much effort than what is required for the blind.
