I have a Samsung SyncMaster 2053BW.
Awhile ago the capacitors gave out and I swapped to another monitor I had. Just today I went and replaced the capacitors.
Monitor works fine and all. I managed to set it up back on to my computer and set all the Monitor's Display Settings to fit my style.
Though, it seems every time I turn the monitor off, then back on, the thing resets its self to a dark green and blurry color. And the menu itself becomes locked and set to Italian. With this, I can at least set it all back.
Other then that, sometimes the monitor turns on, but the menu button doesn't respond at all. Even if I unlock/lock the menu button. Only the Auto button works. Once.
Anyone have an idea what may be up?
If you replaced the capacitors yourself you should recheck everything; maybe you missed a contact, or there's a solder blob somewhere.
Also make sure you have the polarity right. if you put an electrolytic capacitor in backwards, it will cause problems or vent or explode.
I made sure they were right, the board shows which way is needed.
