Stuffing a higher clocked card into a smaller case with one less fan sounds like a recipe for thermal throttling :v:

Eh, should work fine. It's still got plenty of cooling, and Mini ITX cases tend to be built in such a way where the GPU is very close to an inlet.
my gripe with this compact new cards is that they take up two slots then just one, ditching the dvi for that case would be fine.

The cooler would still take up space for the slot next to it, and it isn't a "blow-through" design like the dual-slot GFX cards of yore, so it's kinda moot in that regard.
I'm more annoyed at the fact there isn't a smaller Displayport standard that isn't dictated by Apple, that way they could still cram loads of outputs on the card.
