shit this looks great
Ha that reminds me of when I used to fish on LOTRO with some people.
I remember fishing with some girl and when I caught something to go on my houses wall I said "finally something to mount" and she gave me a funny look. Good times.

you don't seem to tell that to the people who post the same news article from here in SH.
Reminds me of the fishing tournament quest in Runescape that wasn't just "Catch 5 fish".
are you excited by the prospect of standing next to a friend and fishing?
SOUNDS FUCKING AMAZING
I don't see any reason to play this over LOTRO which has better Lore and you can play as a Chicken while running across all of Middle-Earth.

A large amount of people don't really care for the lore and just want to play the open-world pvp.
I'll admit I'm a little excited to try it out too, but I don't want to get my hopes up for something that has such a large chance to fail.
you can play as a Chicken while running across all of Middle-Earth.
this made me more interested in the game than anything else ever has
LOTR lore is on a whole other level, but I like TES's homely batshit crazy lore since the player is able to take actively take part in multiple major points in the lore
There are two issues: A) They fucked the Elder Scrolls lore to hell and back with ESO and B) It's an MMO, you're not going to be playing a major part in anything

Natsume is best fishing game developer.
I just hope they don't make this their way of progressing the lore, like what Blizzard did to Warcraft with WoW.
Goddamnit I still don't even know what happens after TFT because I just don't care enough about an MMO!
While I'm still very hesitant about this game, that one clip with the alter looked very interesting. He just started taking objects, which makes me believe they're trying to make it more like an Elder Scrolls game and less like a traditional MMO.
But will it outdo Animal Crossing's fishing?

I can't remember if either Reel Fishing 2 was the game I played or Sega Bass Duel when I was a kid.
Naw it was Sega Bass Duel, Sega fishing is way better because it's more arcady
Wait not it was Reel Fishing 3
I can't fucking remember.
They are both good how about that.
Is there a sinking lure
I hope I can be a Master Baiter

At this point, nothing can save the Elder Scroll series from a downward spiral into mediocrity, Skyrim was a major disappointment, and from what I've seen of TESO it won't be any better. Turning a genre of game that touts its freedom of choice into a Skinner box that limits your freedoms, nullifies your choices and enforces arbitrary time sinks to keep players playing into the next payment cycle is recipe for failure.
I give it a year to a year and a half before it's f2p or dead.

Completely agree about the MMO, but Skyrim wasn't as bad as people like to make it out to be, in fact, it was largely a step forward from Oblivion. Still not as good as Morrowind all-round, and Oblivion had better questing, but the aesthetics, combat, physics, engine, etc. were all an improvement. The real problem with Skyrim was that they tried to change too much too quickly, had they made a lot of the changes over the course of a couple game people would be okay with it. Another big issue was the lack of diversity in many aspects, such as creatures, armors, and scenery. The scenery bit should have been expected, though, due to it being in Skyrim.
The next Elder Scrolls game is likely to be a pretty big improvement, for many reasons, new console generation, more experience, and likely a much better area.
Also, it's very important to note that Bethesda Game Studios has nothing to do with TES:O, this is all Bethesda Softworks' and Zenimax's fault.
