My cousin who's father is a diplomat has a clerical firm position opened up in Frankfurt. And the job is pretty high-paying so he asked me if he wanted me to come along with him to Germany to start working. The problem is I'm a typical American who doesn't know jackshit in any other languages other than English. And I was really wondering and hoping if anyone here could give me a heads up of any sites that could teach me how to speak German/another language for free of charge. I'm supposed to leave town in about 2 months, though I don't know if this is enough time to learn enough of the language for my trip. Much appreciated if you peeps could help me out.

what?
It is ye olde english
use a translator
it will not work with the grammar sometimes. we set sentences diffrently as americans/brits do
the translator will only translate the words but will not put them in order for you.
Well, if you need help with anything, don't be afraid to ask here

when most of the times you just kind of help :v:
anyway, to learn german as fast as possible, you should go to germany. Nothing beats learning when you learn from everything that's around you. Online there's rosetta stone, but the grammar isn't that good.
You can't really learn German online without any form of teacher guidance. You can probably manage to remember some useful phrases and words, but the German grammar is far more complex than the English one so unless you're a real language prodigy that's not gonna happen.
Learn some words and phrases and take a class when you arrive to Germany. Lie that you know the language and learn while there. :V
