It's a great game, but its in over it's head as for game design. The devs thought a lot of people are gonna play this, and it sadly isn't the case.
What I'd love to see is if they used a Star Wars Battlefront model, having the server filled with bots and fewer players on both sides. In fact, this actually somewhat is the case, although the bots in game are dumb as bricks and weren't designed for it, it just happened naturally. You'll have great fun with like 4 players on each side and 16 bots also on each side. If the bots were designed in a way supporting such a model, this game would rock even more. As for now they're basically cannon fodder that occasionally managed to kill you.
I'd love the whole game to be patched up in a redesign to center the game around a low-player-many-bots, optionally of course, since there wouldn't be a reason to bin the normal multiplayer model since it's already there. And it's not really excluding each other either.
I silently hope for Tripwire to make it happen, although I know the chances are very low. If anything, they might center a sequel around that.
I'd still recommend it, even with the shabby bots it's a lot of fun. And it's not like you won't find a full server or two.
Excellent game when you can find a decent amount of people to play with, and as usual Tripwire doesn't seem to have any intention of giving up on it. Get a good team together and it feels like you're in a war movie, definitely worth the price if you're into this style of FPS.
Yeah, the FPS aspect is just superb. Shooting someone is incredibly satisfying, the gunplay is amazing. One of the best there is, if not the best.
I wish more games would have that quality.
