So this takes place in the Third Succession War, that means no Clan tech I guess.
Finally we can have a true Mechwarrior game.

Does that mean that we also miss out on the cool music?

I kinda really hope that it'll have coop, that's what I've always wanted from the mech warrior games, manning a 'mech lance with my buddies in a campaign.

MechWarrior 4 was already hard enough for me on my own with the garbage controls it had, I really wish I had the patience to rebind the default keys as a kid but cheating was easier and more fun :v:
I really hope it won't borrow the control scheme from MechWarrior 4, I do not miss that. A Co-Op mode would be pretty fun with a game like this either way, as long as both players have enough shit to blow up, so that one player doesn't blow more shit up than the other one.

well I mean if you had coop you could have a combined lance, you could have light 'mechs doing the scouting and flanking, while heavy 'mechs take the fire and do straight assaults. It'd be awesome.
Making it about who kills most really detracts the whole point.

I mean as long as you can do both does it really matter?
You can either blow shit up or just be more strategic the way you want to, I mean as long as the game is well designed for multiple playstiles I'm pretty sure they could give you more options gameplay wise somehow.

Well yeah, sure, but what I mean is that it shouldn't be all about who gets to shoot most stuff, it should be about completing objectives while not dying, you know. Using tactics etc in coop to achieve stuff.

Ah, I don't know I was just talking generally anyway, I have no idea what a Co Op mode would imply in a game like this seeing as what I said was really generic anyway. :v: We'll just have to wait I guess.
It's by the Mechwarrior Online and Duke Nukem Forever side devs. It is probably going to be shit.
I don't know if MWO has changed since I dropped it several years ago bu I'm not getting hyped for this unless they really did make a change for the better somehow after the people who bought founders decided to revolt
Maybe it's stupid, but since you could walk around outside the mech, I'm hoping that if you eject you can maybe run around and maybe do some Titanfall-ish person-mech combat.
About fucking time.
Mechwarrior 4 was one of my favorite games ever. I had a full Joystick control rig setup for it. It was glorious.
They better not dumb it down.
On one hand really hyped because mechwarrior 5, on the otherhand, it's still PGI. Hopefully with a singleplayer focused experience they won't make the same mistakes they did with MWO.
Since we're getting more battletech games all of a sudden, here's my small hope that someone revives Mechcommander while we're at it.
