Don't you mean porting BG1 to BG2? Because that's what the mods do.

I will SO back a BG3 by the lead of NWN and original part of the BG1 team! I fucking HOPE they do a kickstarter. I'm going to support the FUCK outta them!

I loved BG and BG II, Icewind Dale series too and was lucky enough to find them again in a cheap combo box with all the expansions for BG 2 as well.
