I saw the Steam offer in which Steam takes 4.99 dollars for GMod and I just said "HOLYSHIT".
Can I buy GMod right now, and THEN buy HL2? Or do I have to own it first?
Otherwise, is it enough if I have HL2: Lost Coast or HL2DM? Because they are source-games too :3
Probably not. You need either HL2, CSS or DOD:S as far as I know.

I bought Gmod and HL2: DM for only $10 total. :)
(For the record, HL2: DM has everything Gmod needs from HL2 to run. And it's alot cheaper than the full-blown HL2 game.)

As long as you have a source-powered (hl2,hl2:ep1,hl2:ep2, Tf2: DoD:s CS:s and whatnot) game in [B]Steam[/B] You can buy Gmod. And it will function.
Gmod is standalone. You don't need to buy anything in order for it to work.
If you want the content from the other source games though you have to buy them.

No. It won't work with the nvidia and ati offers. You'll have to buy a Source game.
Best option is to just get the Orange box alongside GMod. Lots of great games for low price, and you'll instantly have most of the content GMod can mount.
