What about avatar awards? The concepts the same, and its already in place.

This ''fame'' scheme seems aimed towards shifting XBLA titles, avatar awards is just something tacked onto full sized games as a gimmicky add-on.

isn't the whole point of hats in tf2 the fact that you get them by not doing anything. Only a few are obtained through achievements, and none of them are worth writing home about

So putting avatar awards in XBLA warrants its own special name? It literally sounds exactly the same. Both are gimmicky, both unlock various outfits for your avatar.
