I have an OCD thing about buying anything not on Steam, so that's the only place I buy my games.
I try not to.
Yeah if I have cash handy and I'm out & about I'll see if there's any new games I want in stores. Besides, the past few new games I've gotten automatically work with Steam anyways.

I probably buy more than 80% of my games on Steam though.
occasionally but I do nearly 90% of my purchases on steam.
Well, my account is disabled, so I have to.
Yes, but rarely retail. I only buy games through Steam, or through other online vendors with no/minimal DRM.
If a game is available from another online vendor that doesn't require a client and Steam, I usually buy the non-Steam version as a preference (if they have no/minimal DRM).
Basically in order of preference:
Retail CD w/ no DRM (if they even exist any more)
Digital copy, requires no client and no DRM
Steam
Retail CD w/ DRM
Digital copy, requires client and has DRM

That's what you get for scamming in TF2, mate.
yes
I buy retail, then activate on Steam. Works out for me so far.
Computer games I get on steam. Not much of an option for console games.
I do get non-steam games for the PC if I want to get a collectors edition or something, though.
Recently I've bought my games off of Steam, due to incredibly fast download etc. Black Ops SP/MP both downloaded in about an hour
However i'd consider buying a cheaper game in a store then setting it up in my steam account and throw the cases away

No, I was hijacked so many times that they had to disable my account. Couldn't find any keyloggers, nor could anyone help me. I eventually gave up. Might set up a new account and buy some of my games over again.
i dont even have a disc drive ;)
I hate having games on discs. You have to put it in every time you want to play it and if it's broken or you can't find it, you have to buy another copy. Also Steam games are healthier to the environment.
I mainly buy games from Retail Stores, Not a big PC player
I don't even have Steam games.
Of course dude.
Yes. My favourite is when you can active games you bought in a box on steam. Steam is so much easier, but I like having a physical copy as well.
I avoid it most of the time because I like the mobility and (mostly) lack of third-party DRM for the games. I don't have any bookcase or similar where I can arrange the boxes I own anyway, they just end up in a drawer.
Only boxed game I've bought in the last few years was the special edition of STALKER CoP, just for the goodies.
Yes, although most of my recent purchases have been through Steam.
I like buying from steam, but i dont do it often. THe good thing about steam is that if you destroy the disk you can still download it
The only downside with Steam games is that if Steam goes bankrupt, everyone will lose all their games and saves.
The only downside with Steam games is that if Steam goes bank corrupt, everyone will lose all their games and saves.
It's called "bankrupt", and no we won't. Valve has stated that in the event of a financial emergency that forces the Steam servers to shut down, the unlocked executables of all games would be released. Saved games are typically stored on disk, by the way.
god OP makes it sound like steam owns him apart from his mental disorder
I buy most of my games in stores, and I hate as hell when I get a game in stores, and still have to activate it on steam to play it. STOP BEING SO INTRUSIVE, VALVE.
Only when i can activate them with steam
+ steam is cheaper than my local stores

Gabe will be skinny by the time this happen.
I can't stand Steam so I try to buy retail as often as possible. But Steam still has amazing fucking deals and games I can't find in retail, so most of my purchases are done through Steam.
Can't buy PS2 games on steam

God that makes me think, since today is thanks giving I wonder what that large man is doing. His turkey bill alone must be somewhere in the thousands.
