Holy shit he mentioned facepunch in that video
It's ironic because Day-z is pretty hard to get working if you're unfamiliar to it.
Holy shit he mentioned facepunch in that video
What really surprises me is that he mentioned Facepunch first.
I was kind of hoping he would talk about the whole "it's an alpha/beta so deal with game breaking bugs" mentality instead of just saying "yep people want to be able to connect to servers when they buy a game."
He was on Facepunch for about 2 weeks in the very first month of DayZ's life. We were like one of the initial forums to spread word of DayZ because we have a lot of ShackTac members who were the first ones to play it. his account http://facepunch.com/member.php?u=494663
We are all famous stars now
Oh neat he mentioned FP. edit: ninjas.
It's ironic because Day-z is pretty hard to get working if you're unfamiliar to it.
It's an arma mod, what do you expect? Now that it's a standalone product, the stability and convenience of the game will be much better
When I read the title I thought this was going to be some sort of anti-DRM article. :v:
Cool, Facepunch shout-out. His approach seems pretty smart.
WHERE'S THE SCOPE FOR THE CROSSBOW ROCKET WHERE'S THE FUCKING SCOPE
facepunch exclusive alpha pls k thnx
He's such a swell guy, I love his involvement with the community and actually listening to people's good ideas. Some posts on reddit have directly influenced the way the game is going because they made a lot of sense.

I remember making a thread for dayz on facepunch titled "Dammit rocket what did you break this time". Fun game, looking forward to the standalone game where hopefully my fps will be decent.
Aight, this seems neat. Just hope they find a way to motivate people to do more than just have it being played as the all out open world deathmatch thing it eventually spiraled into.
too bad dayz is a broken mess that absolutely destroyed the arma 2 community not to mention it suffers from the same problem tf2 does where its nearly impossible for a new player to enjoy the game since they cant enjoy the metagame
He mentions the game having a very low price point initially and increasing throughout the stages of development (like Minecraft), but he doesn't want a lot of people playing the very first release. Wouldn't it make more sense to have a higher sales price for the earlier releases and drop the price as development progresses? That way you'll have less players, and those players will really want to get the value out of their purchase so they would be good play testers.

I remember being a bandit in the Facepunch server and pissing off a bunch of people with stupid image banners and gloating about kills. That sort of stuff really bought character to the Facepunch DayZ community!
He said Reddit first though.
Sshhhhh LEt us believe we were mentioned first.
I really like Rocket. FP, 4chan/v/ and Reddit represent a big part of the core gaming crowd, and I'm glad he knows to look beyond his own forum.

You could go on any server and most of the people would be FPers. That was back when there was all of 3 servers though. However, it was also back before the game turned into "ArmA PvP with zombies thrown in". Back then, everybody worked together to make some awesome stories. Ah, the good ole' days.
Introversion hopes that by attaching a not-insignificant price to the alpha, it will attract those with a vested interest in contributing feedback and who genuinely want to help shape the game’s development.
http://ca.ign.com/articles/2013/01/28/prison-architect-preview

He had nvgs and guided us in the complete dark while we had to make do with throwing flares every 100 meters. It was really cool, we trekked all the way to the NWA until the one silent guy decided to backstab everyone. :v:
The 'mastermind' behind DayZ?
Holy shit he mentioned facepunch in that video
My existence now has a point. I can die happy now.
