• I'm in the preliminary stages of building a PC

I'm Jon Snow when it comes to building a PC, so right now I'm just trying to find out how much it would cost. I'm looking for something that can edit/render HD videos and doesn't completely slow down my computer. I wanna be able to go on websites, watch videos, etc while I'm rendering videos. I'm not a big gamer, but I'd also like to get a price range on something that could run GTA 4 or the latest Call of Duty. No budget (yet) but I don't wanna spend crazy amounts of money, just a reasonable price... Thanks everybody. Bye!
For something that can run Call of Duty/GTA 4/any new game on high you wouldn't need much more than $700 for the parts. However, rendering and watching videos while you render might be a different story. I'd estimate a good starting price of around $1,000. This is assuming you have a keyboard, OS, monitors, mouse, etc. Just the parts inside the case+the case.
Thanks, that's around the price range I was thinking. Do you have any recommendations for parts?
As of prices now. An i5 3570k, Asus Z77, GTX 670, decent 600w+ PSU made by Corsair, Seasonic, OCZ, Antec. Until you have an actual budget theres no point of putting together a build.
He may want an i7 for video rendering.
Ah, didn't see that. Yeah an i7 would be better but an i5 is fine if he can't afford the i7.
