Well I guess it's not a [I]true[/I] AK47 as it's the semi-auto civilian variant, however, it's fun as hell.

Also: those look like cheap rounds. I strongly suggest getting decent rounds in there, I'm sure the Ak could handle the cheaper rounds, but even slightly nicer rounds are worth it.

It's was $540 USD after tax (Brand New). Yea, I got those bullets when I bought the gun. They're russian made and really cheap $6 for 20. But I suppose I could get a little better quality. Any ammo recommendations?

Old soviet stuff is cheaper than dirt nowadays, and comes in paper-packages. However, it's mostly something called "corrosive" ammo, which means it's built for firing in minus 0 degree weather. Really dirties up the gun, but's cheap and common.

Honestly I would get an ak for that much just to have fun with.

You'd better clean it alot. Honestly, you get what you pay for and, It probably wouldn't last that long if you neglect it, even if it is an ak.

What do you mean by "distress"? remove it?

That's pretty cool, I wanted a Nagant for a while before I got this. My AK is fairly loud. I've shot an AR-15 before which seemed louder than this, but it's hard to judge. I can clearly hear a booming echo off of a small mountain about 2 miles away if that helps.
