Imagine if XCOM had a top-down world-building grand strategy overworld like the Civ games. That'd be pretty cool. Hell, if anything, the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown should be XCOM: Alpha Centauri. That would probably make MANY people cream their pants from gusset to knee.
It would be awesome if this added an extra stage to the late game where you can fly to other planets where you can set up base.

Although I don't want to mix it up with XCom. That would destroy the experience.

It was fun playing a fantasy civ game as opposed to one that had to ground itself to history.
