Yeah CEO's in today's animation industry are looking for low-cost, minimal risk shows that'll sell a lot of merchandise (If you remember Symbiotic Titan got cancelled because it failed to get a Merch deal and became too expensive to produce. This is kinda understandable because animation studios don't have the budget like they used to like in the 90's). Plus it's not only CEO's faults it's focus groups and such that are the problem also using pseudo-science research to market to a demographic and get a warped perception of what kids and teens like.
