The short version is that this game got outsourced to the guys who brought us Legendary.
And now it looks like Dead Space.
Just ignore that this exists, please. It's just Capcom running another series into the ground.

Lost Planet 2 was fun as fuck but it didn't sell well in the US because it was fucking hard and needed to be played co-op or online to be really fun. Even the competitive multiplayer was a blast. It was my favorite game of 2010 and had some of the most insane boss fights in a video game.
I always regret I didn't buy Lost Planet 2. Seems like my sort of game, ridiculous multiplayer boss fights :v:

You really should try it. It's an incredibly fun game, but it has some quirks. This new game look very different. Not sure if it's gonna be good or not, but cinematics wise it seems more polished.
There was a second Lost Planet?

it didn't sell well because it was a shit game
lp1 was better in every way
The second one looked pretty cool to me, but I've never played a Lost Planet before.
Lost Planet 3 doesn't look too bad at all.
Dead Space Three-style, granted.. but it could be a surprise hit.
I might get it anyways because I did play Lost Planet 2 and it got an interesting storyline and last me a few days.
The only good thing that came out of the second game was it's cutscenes.
I tried out a demo of this at Comic-Con, but the game was pretty dull.
It may have been the tutorial bit that was boring, but the cut scenes were drawn out and the load times were rather long for a current gen game. Graphics were nothing to be excited about either.
The first person view on the mining robot was cool though. Didn't get a chance to go any further since the load transitions were too common and I was on a time restraint.
