I could really use one for going to uni. Live in London, Budget around £80. Has FP got anything that works well for them? Preferably without any software to install with it, just plug and play.
If you've already got an internal HDD you can buy a Hard Drive Enclosure and use the internal one ad an external (USB).
Anything really. This is nice a small. http://www.ebuyer.com/product/154815

Just go there and and pick anything with decent reviews.
I got a Western Digital 120GB Passport.
Been running perfectly for over 2 years, no problems to report, although Ubuntu says the read error rate isn't good.
I went for a Western Digital 1TB external for £60. Good choice?

Western digital is a solid brand, haven't had any problems with them.
My Western Digital internal has no issue's at all.. Seems like WD has some pretty reliable hardware
I got a Lacie 500gb It's very good. My high school teacher had the same drive lying around in class and people raped it and it kept on going.

I have one of these and although it's not very portable it's solid and works well.
I also have 3 friends who have had theirs for much longer than I have and they all love theirs.
