There is a god
I thought they already implemented this. I guess it was just Hexen and Five Nights at Freddys being relatively small.
remember the days when you couldn't officially download a game whilst playing another? (by officially i mean having options for it and not having to windows key out and start a download in the library, not piracy lmao)

Just alt-tab after you've opened your game of choice and start a download.
Wait, install or download? The article says install but the header thing says download.
Pretty sure you've always been able to. Just alt-tab after you've opened your game of choice and start a download.
That was simply a loophole. They eventually patched that out before adding in the feature.
Fuck just rate my post dumb 😬
Wait, install or download? The article says install but the header thing says download.
It's the same process, really. I guess the dependencies might still "install" separately but anything on SteamPipe is not really much more than just an extraction at this point. In theory installs should go fine as well. To make it clear, selecting and batch installing just queues up things for download and installation. They'll still download one by one. This is awesome! I'd love if they could add the ability in the GUI to move game installations from one drives'/partitions' Steam library to another. I mean I know you can cut and paste them with Steam closed and it works that way but it would just be nice if it could be done inside the client.
It would be great if they add an option to auto-shut down the PC when the download ends.
Perfect timing Valve, I just got a new PC. :v:
when did they implement this? I recall shift clicking to queue up multiple downloads... [editline]26th August 2014[/editline] oh, shack news is just two days late.
Probably when the new Steam theme went out of beta, we (SteamDB) just didn't notice it. :v:
Time to install my entire steam library
Now let us talk to friends while we verify integrity of game cache
Maybe this update is what made my Steam crash on startup. Eventually figured out that if you have the SteamVR beta installed, it won't start.
I thought they already implemented this. Honestly, it seemed like the whole "download queue" thing had only come into existence recently, and now it's gone again. I can't be the only one remembering this, am I?
Now let us talk to friends while we verify integrity of game cache
And let us auto verify games sequentially.

Eventually they did the download que system and you could only do one at a time, and while not in game. Then they let you do it while in game again. Now you can do both once again.
Now let us talk to friends while we verify integrity of game cache
DINGDINGDING
implemented two days after i bought a computer, and installed everything implemented a day after i returned the first computer, got another, and installed everything again
Now let us talk to friends while we verify integrity of game cache
Just this, please for the love of gaben just this.
Now let us talk to friends while we verify integrity of game cache
And make it so the "add non steam game" doesn't completely freeze steam while it loads a useless list of everything on your computer
Yay, now I can install all my steam library without having to go through the whole list.
And make it so the "add non steam game" doesn't completely freeze steam while it loads a useless list of everything on your computer
Mine doesn't freeze while it's populating that list, though it does only visually update when I move my mouse over one of the buttons.
