I really wish that they'd somehow get the rights to Scott Pilgrim again, that Beat-Em-up was fantastic.
Paul Robertson's sprites and animations are fucking stellar. I'm glad to see him doing more games.
The game's fun as of now, but all it really does is make me want to play Metal Slug. Maybe it just hasn't hooked me yet.
This game is alright. The movement feels really stiff though, to the point where I wish it was as smooth as Metal Slug is.
This game gets boring really quick. I beat it in 12 hours and it was a drag playing through. They just reused and repeated way too many things. I was constantly doing the same objective types over and over again while repeating the same maps and enemy. Want to do a collect X item mission 20 times over on 3 the same repeating maps? Want to rescue X character 20 times in the exact scenario describes previously? Want to kill X enemy 20 times again in the same scenario? You get the idea now? That's how all the objectives are. And it's not like you get a unique experience every mission, it's all the same layout, same enemy placement, etc. It doesn't help that all the enemies seemed like they were all programmed to be super easy to kill. X enemy walks back and forth on a programmed path, X enemy stands and shoots then ducks, etc. When people say this game is like Metal Slug, it's far from the truth. Maybe the art style, but the gameplay is so slow and boring. All the enemies feel like you're on a shooting range doing target practice, they put up almost no fight. When you match that with these weapons that are way excessive for the enemies they have in game, you get a super easy game. The only two things I really enjoyed where the weapon crafting system and the art style.
you've never played monster hunter, have you
No, but I was under the impression this game was like Metal Slug from reading what others said about it. This is far from the truth, the game plays nothing like Metal Slug and is super boring in comparison. This game is nowhere near the $20 asking price they're going to be asking, especially since all the content is just copy pasted and renamed.

Understandable that it seems repetitive, but some people like that, like me.

This game just isn't fun. It's just way too easy and feels the exact same on every play through.
