Is this a good CPU for the price? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103287
A high-end dual-core is better than a low-end quad-core. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103694
yea i kinda figured because of the GHz and such [editline]12:02AM[/editline] but would this motherboard work with it? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813135234
That will work with both processors that you and I posted.
ah k thnx
With AMD, never spend less than $100 on a quad core, and never spend less than $200 on an Intel quad core. Never buy a Via quad core, they don't exist.
lol, yea i found very quickly that AMD is cheaper then Intel
Or if you fancy a little bit of luck you can attempt to unlock cores on a AMD Phenom II 550/710/720.
If you want a quad core, no less than a PII945 (Amd), and Dual-Core get a PII550. For Intel's components, get get a Q9550 (Expensive, but way worth it), and for 2 cores get an E8400.
meh, im just gonna stick with AMD
So get an AMD PhenomII 550, (2x3.2Ghz), or get a PhenomII 720 (3x2.6[?]Ghz).
720BE is 2.8 Ghz
The 720 is excellent: Fast, cool, and very overclockable.
not in my price range, but im just gonna go with the AMD Phenom II x2 for now...
$20 more than the 550 on Newegg.
