It's like if Shadow of Chernobyl was incredibly linear, had no A-life whatsoever, and a horrible contrived story with shitty cutscenes straight out of awful mods from the early '00s. A lot of Lost Alpha's maps are pretty badass, but with no life or loot outside of the missions you do there isn't any reason to really explore them at all.

I would like to see 3rd-party developers pick up those maps and work out some miracles. Miracles involving full A-Life support, a high quality weapon mod, and maybe new items and whatnot.
I'm curious to see what they are planning with the Developer's Cut version though.
Lost Alpha? Pfffffft.
I've played kitchen sink mods that were more entertaining, had better maps, better loot, better AI and better missions. There are a few decent quality parts (some of the maps) but that's about all there is. If somebody hasn't played it and asked me about it, I'd tell them that they are lucky. If somebody had played it but somehow couldn't see its flaws, I'd tell them they were entitled to their opinion but that LA was ultimately a massive disappointment.
I've not seen a single person on /vg/ or facepunch stalker threads actually say that they were't disappointed or that LA was good. That's legitimately the most offending thing to me on that list; even more some than Truck Sim.

Forgotten Hope 2 would be my pick, but it's not as popular as it used to be. 100+ players on the new Omaha map is just... epic.
