• Getting a refund from a steam game I just bought.

Hello everybody. I recently purchased Commandos 3 through steam and I don't like the game. I know that according to EU Law, I may ask for a refund 7 days after the purchase of a non faulty product. My question is. How do I do such a thing? I already contacted support by creating an account on steam support, but do they actually answer people? Please help me if you can. Thank you.
They have taken at least 24 hours for every question that I asked. I usually get what I came for though.
I see. However my question is: Is mailing them through steam support just all it takes?
If you mean https://support.steampowered.com/ Then yes But If what was said here is true, you probably won't receive the refund http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2174361
I'm quite sure that you don't get refunds unless you get a copy that doesn't work.
Steam isn't a European thing so I don't think that law applies to them. I've never seen anyone receive a refund just because they "don't like the game".
You'll only get a refund from steam if the game you bought is an unreleased pre-order, it has some critical, well known problem or the store page mislead you in some way.
I tried this once, and I didn't get anything, just a nice mail saying "No." .
European union law will override the steam TOS, I've seen it done by european friends many a time. Typically, they ask for a refund, steam support guy says no we can't do that in the TOS it says we are not obligated. He replies that the EU law overrides any TOS, so then he gets a refund.
That's silly, 7 days is more than enough to finish your average game these days.

The servers from which Europeans download their games are in Europe, aren't they? So European laws apply to them.
You can't get a refund on Steam products. When you buy a Steam game, you're not paying for a physical product, you're paying for a service. You can't get refunds for services under the EU 'unwanted goods' policy.
"I bought some music tracks online that I immediately downloaded. There are a few I do not like, but I have already paid for them. Can I ask for a refund on those tracks? I bought them only yesterday. NO - Even though the seven-day "cooling off" period for online purchases is not yet over, by downloading the tracks you have bought a service and have already used it. You cannot cancel a service which has already started, with your agreement."
Actually its only a service if you download the game. If he bought the game but asked for a refund without downloading the game (like he bought it accidentally for example) then he can get a refund. A friend of mine did this recently but he lives in the US so I'm not sure how it would be handled in the EU.
I downloaded the game. It's not that big of a deal, though, I just spent 0.99€ on it. But it's still shite though. and I could use an extra 1€ during christmas sales. Sometimes all it takes is 1€ to complete a great purchase. Oh, well, guess I'll have to be stuck with commandos 3 forever... what was I thinking...
