I bought some games a while back for the 360 but i have a habit for scratching game cds so will burning my games onto backup disks ban me from xbox live?
Short answer: Yes Long answer: Yes because your DVD drive will need to be reflashed Long-term answer: They will ban you eventually, same thing happened for pirates of MW2
As long as you don't play online, they won't catch you. :)
Yes you will get banned. Permanent XBOX 360 ban. Your xbox will not be able to connect to live ever again. But if you put your hard drive on another xbox you can still use your account online.
Usb flash stick your shit :smug:
Yea, Just don't go on live or look at above suggestions.
If they scratch, just copy them to the hard drive. The disk only spins up a bit to verify that it's your game and then turns off.
Im not modding the console or anything and I have the right disks to burn it on and im using my computer for the burning process. Does that make any difference?

IS there anyway to do it for free? cause i kinda have no money right now and wont be getting any for a while
I'm pretty sure it can be done for free. Never attempted it before myself, so I'm not positive.
Yes, they ban the Xbox itself from accessing live. Doesn't matter what account your on.
well in that case does anybody know a legit website that i can buy used games off of for cheap. and yes i know ebay but anyplace else?
They sell cheap used games at Gamestop if you have one where you live.
Short answer: Yes Long answer: Yes because your DVD drive will need to be reflashed Long-term answer: They will ban you eventually, same thing happened for pirates of MW2
Here's my version: Short answer: Eventually, yes Long answer: Yes, because you need to modify the DVD drive's firmware. MS may always impliment new Live checks without any notice, even if newer versions of iXtreme are released for defeating the current checks. Long-term answer: They will ban you eventually, because any offenses that are detected by new checks are logged, and are submitted over XBL. It will only be a matter of time for them to ban you. In another word, if you don't screw with Live, you should be fine.
As long as you don't play online, they won't catch you. :)
Not true. The box keeps a cache of which games have been played, from what media. Its part of Xbox Live and your Live profile.
Not true. The box keeps a cache of which games have been played, from what media. Its part of Xbox Live and your Live profile.
It's not only that. Any offenses that are picked up from various media/system checks are logged to secdata.bin on the NAND. If your secdata.bin is not "clean", your Xbox will be kicked off of Live during the annual banwave.
My brother did this and got banned... only for a week or something though. And he could still play online, just not get achievments/points I think. [editline]11:28AM[/editline] Wait sorry, thinking of wrong brother. Yes that will get you banned. The brother who got what I said above was cheating to get easy points online.

[editline]11:28AM[/editline] Wait sorry, thinking of wrong brother. Yes that will get you banned. The consequence would only be zeroed GS and having a flagged profile. We're talking about ban triggered by burnt disks, which will result in a console ban, and inability to sign onto live at all.
This is what he sent to me "(Banned for) Cheating with Shean in Halo. Evidently you can't get away with logging on 4 controllers and 4 guitars in a party match to earn some cheap online achievements without getting caught. Oh well, they only ban you from getting EXP for a few weeks, I can still play the game" I dont think that's what you were talking about.. But yes, I agree with your second part. [editline]12:35PM[/editline] I don't own a 360 so I may be talking about wrong thing in my first post.
I dont think that's what you were talking about..
Nope, I wasn't expecting your friend to be cheating in such a lame manner. Most people gets their gamertag flagged for cheating for resigning other people's gamesaves into their own accounts, so they would get all the achievements automatically.
