I think it should work with 256 RAM.
Unreal 2 was really bad compared to the original one, but it's still playable.
Project : eden can be played in third and first person, and is pretty enjoyable on FPS mode, especially because of the original aiming system (the crosshair isn't always at the center of the screen, play it and you'll understand). The game itself is really cool.
Duke nukem 3D and Doom are classics, still funny to play even after so much years.
Quake II and III are awesome, but they have pretty big differences : though Quake II has a long and pretty hard solo campaign, quake III is clearly made for multiplayer gaming.
