I've been listening to the HL1 soundtrack and I can't figure out what the sound is at 0:13 and 0:37. I'm pretty sure I've heard it before but I can't remember where or what instrument was even used.

anyone know what instruments make up that drumming sound that isnt the duduk? it kinda sounds like some kinda panpipe instrument and a familiar sounding drum
Whatever instrument it is, the sound file itself has to be in some sort of collective sound library somewhere. I've heard it in that Half Life song, in Courage the Cowardly Dog, it is also sampled in this track at 0:50:

It might be from one of the Zero-G or Spectrasonics sample libraries from the mid to late nineties. I know that, particularly on hl2, they used some sounds from these libraries. The hunt has begun.
