Can anyone explain to me why the hell Windows would want to basicly, block its self?

Explorer is not Windows.
If it's real, then I'm glad. I don't want Windows to bypass its own firewall just because it's explorer asking to. Viruses could use it to remotely connect to FTP, ya know.
Also explorer wouldn't really need to accept any incoming network connections does it?

It is real, it's just rare to come by as most people use Explorer for basic shell browsing/file handling within their own system.

As in transfering files from one computer on the network to another.
