• Installing an GTx460 and using only one six pin a good idea and weird driver issue?

So i got an 500w PSU with only has one spare six pin adapter that i could use but im not sure if its worth a risk. My other problem is that when i tried to install my GTxes drivers it errored saying it could not detect VGA or somthing and i later found out that it had started to install world of warcraft (what) but can i use my previous up to date drivers for my 8600 on the 460?
If it requires more than one, you will get a warning that the card isn't receiving enough power and it will underclock and you will be getting poor performance.
oh that lame but i've read about how it may strain the card and fry other parts of the system if it is put under too much load. and can anyone explain the drivers issue ? and the world of warcraft thing is just weird
you need to give it the power it needs, then your games will play right
actually i might have but im not entirely sure if 500W Will be enouth for it and i don't want the whole system to overload

oh okay good to know. still anyone now anything with it working with the up to date drivers for the niv8600? seeming as my driver disk is fucked
your card will work fine once it gets the right power, the driver for the card are located here http://www.nvidia.com/content/global/global.php
Just connect the required amount of power plugs and install the latest drivers, that should solve everything. You won't fry the card connecting the required power cords
the 460s come with 2 molex-6pin adapters at least mine did
