Man turns down free money, will settle with $1 trillion dollars collected previously
Can't wait for the release next month
FNAF is still going on? I thought the last game was the very last game forever and ever
cant wait for matpat to have a panic attack when he realises he cant make more fnaf videos. Oh wait, he'll still find a way
There's five games?
There's five games?
hey i'd be shitting them out too if i made literally millions of dollars per release off dumb kids
Don't worry, it'll release sooner or later :v:
God damn it
tbh can't blame the guy for making that many games, wouldn't blame him if he quit with the money he had or continued. He been spending over a decade making games and never saw real success. He just kept making games and there was no real point to it, and he started to just lose hope. That's what I remember about him at least. He makes FNAF, which all of a sudden, quite literally EXPLODES. He accidentally hits one of the biggest fad games of its generation. Completely unexpected boom of popularity, and its absolutely everywhere. He's also very much surprisingly generous too. FNAF World was considered a failure and he didn't charge anyone for it, just released it free instead. He likes donating money as well.
i dont know where to start really. didnt know people actually still cared about this game after what, the third release?
Every YouTuber and their mom plays every FNAF game on release, and thus all of their tween fans eat that shit up. I see merchandise at fairs and even in stores all the time. Shit's practically as big as Angry Birds was a few years ago, at least among tweens.

[editline]3rd July 2017[/editline] There really wasn't a game out there of great-note that really marketed horror to kids like FNAF could even in 201x
hey i'd be shitting them out too if i made literally millions of dollars per release off dumb kids
Not everyone who enjoys this game are dumb kids, as you make it sound. I've enjoyed most of the games, and buy them because of this. I would've liked to see a FNaF 6, personally.
Not everyone who enjoys this game are dumb kids, as you make it sound.
true, some of those kids are rather smart
"I want to get back to what made game-making enjoyable in the first place."
So basically he pulled a Notch? (Which isn't me being derogatory to be clear. I don't blame Notch for his decision either.) Also jesus christ, a sixth one? Last I heard there were like three and a spin off or something like that.
Hasn't every FNaF (besides 1) been "cancelled"? I swear I remember seeing something like this a month or two before each sequel was released.
There's five games?

the series appeared in the Guinness Book of Records: Gamer's Edition, breaking the record for the most sequels released in a year
:dogwow:
:dogwow:
what! theres got to be a game series with as many sequels out there. what about all those wolfeinstein "sequels" made, everything from wolf3d and on is a sequel
what! theres got to be a game series with as many sequels out there. what about all those wolfeinstein "sequels" made, everything from wolf3d and on is a sequel
most sequels released within a year, not overall
I really respect this guy, i mean its everyones dream to make it big and have success and he found it with a simple, easy to make game. Good for him. Movies, POPs, shirts, youtube, hes making it big time.
:dogwow:
Imagine being able to release a bunch of sequels in one year and making a ton of money off of it.
So basically he pulled a Notch? (Which isn't me being derogatory to be clear. I don't blame Notch for his decision either.) Also jesus christ, a sixth one? Last I heard there were like three and a spin off or something like that.
On that note: Play Notch's other stuff if you have the time. Most of them seem to be fairly small games and/or experiments, but they imo make it more clear that he's a really good game dev (designer) than Minecraft does.
hey i'd be shitting them out too if i made literally millions of dollars per release off dumb kids
there are plenty of perfectly normal kids who love FNAF until you've worked toy store retail and witnessed a child smile because they were bought a foxy plush you'll never learn to appreciate how happy this franchise makes kids. yeah it has its obnoxious community, but name one franchise that doesn't.
I've followed a lot of the games, and I've definitely enjoyed them to some extent but I seriously don't blame Scott for this, there's a lot of stress riding on him of people wanting it better than the last and etc. Stacking expectations can absolutely destroy you if you get too trigger-happy. But hey, at least he's been a nice guy, and I wish him well with whatever he makes next. It was his first experience with a 'fanbase' and I don't exactly blame him for not wanting to let that go.
To be fair not sure if troll or not. because he has trolled his fanbase three times already. And he took my idea of a Chuck E cheese style Pizzaria Tycoon.
Hasn't every FNaF (besides 1) been "cancelled"? I swear I remember seeing something like this a month or two before each sequel was released.
Honestly, i'm completely expecting FNaF's refusal to die to bleed into other Steam games, probably in the form of Payday 2 masks or a Kill Freddy mission DLC. Either way, FNaF 6 is definitely gonna happen due to being pretty much as immortal as internet memes can be
i hope he makes The Desolate Hope 2 soon

The amount of shirts are truly innumerable.
Also jesus christ, a sixth one? Last I heard there were like three and a spin off or something like that.
FNAF 1 and 2 in 2014, 3 and 4 in 2015, FNAF World also in 2015, and FNAF Sister Location (or technically FNAF 5) semi-late last year. Keep in mind that until FNAF World took the large gap between 4 and SL, each of the games released with only 4-5 months between eachother at best. There's also two different books (one of which was released only a week ago), a guidebook, and a movie in production.
