He makes FNAF, which all of a sudden, quite literally [B]EXPLODES[/B]. He accidentally hits one of the biggest fad games of its generation. Completely unexpected boom of popularity, and its absolutely everywhere.
He's also very much surprisingly generous too. FNAF World was considered a failure and he didn't charge anyone for it, just released it free instead. He likes donating money as well.

Every YouTuber and their mom plays every FNAF game on release, and thus all of their tween fans eat that shit up. I see merchandise at fairs and even in stores all the time. Shit's practically as big as Angry Birds was a few years ago, at least among tweens.

There are so many Pre-AG sling-shot/catapult games out there that get called out for being "AG clones" that its insane.

Not everyone who enjoys this game are dumb kids, as you make it sound. I've enjoyed most of the games, and buy them because of this. I would've liked to see a FNaF 6, personally.

oh no im not saying you have to be a dumb kid to enjoy it, i'm just saying that dumb kids that watch markipier play the game and rush to grab their parents credit cards to buy it (along with a massive pile of merch) are surely a majority of his revenue

I really respect this guy, i mean its everyones dream to make it big and have success and he found it with a simple, easy to make game. Good for him. Movies, POPs, shirts, youtube, hes making it big time.

On that note: Play Notch's other stuff if you have the time.
Most of them seem to be fairly small games and/or experiments, but they imo make it more clear that he's a really good game dev (designer) than Minecraft does.

there are plenty of perfectly normal kids who love FNAF
until you've worked toy store retail and witnessed a child smile because they were bought a foxy plush you'll never learn to appreciate how happy this franchise makes kids. yeah it has its obnoxious community, but name one franchise that doesn't.
I've followed a lot of the games, and I've definitely enjoyed them to some extent but I seriously don't blame Scott for this, there's a lot of stress riding on him of people wanting it better than the last and etc. Stacking expectations can absolutely destroy you if you get too trigger-happy. But hey, at least he's been a nice guy, and I wish him well with whatever he makes next.
It was his first experience with a 'fanbase' and I don't exactly blame him for not wanting to let that go.
To be fair not sure if troll or not. because he has trolled his fanbase three times already.
And he took my idea of a Chuck E cheese style Pizzaria Tycoon.

Honestly, i'm completely expecting FNaF's refusal to die to bleed into other Steam games, probably in the form of Payday 2 masks or a Kill Freddy mission DLC.
Either way, FNaF 6 is definitely gonna happen due to being pretty much as immortal as internet memes can be

I work at Kohl's (which isn't exactly known for diverging from a conservative lineup) and I can tell you there's shitpots of the stuff in the boys department, along with a slightly smaller collection in the men's department. The amount of shirts are truly innumerable.

FNAF 1 and 2 in 2014, 3 and 4 in 2015, FNAF World also in 2015, and FNAF Sister Location (or technically FNAF 5) semi-late last year. Keep in mind that until FNAF World took the large gap between 4 and SL, each of the games released with only 4-5 months between eachother at best.
There's also two different books (one of which was released [i]only a week ago[/i]), a guidebook, and a movie in production.
