Need help picking a new Television set

I suppose this is the right place to post as TVs are technological gizmos :D

I have little to no knowledge of tvs. Our old set broke, and now we are looking for a new one.
I'd like one thats at least 46-47 inch. Does not matter whether its LCD Plasma or whatever.
Lowest price preferred
