hi, i'm looking for a png to ico converter, but i would like these "requirements" met:
-can convert multiple at a time
[highlight]-does not reduce the size of png's under 256x256[/highlight]
-can take a whole folder, and will find all the png's in it and convert them
[highlight]-not photoshop or similar program[/highlight]
[highlight]-not online[/highlight]
[highlight]-free[/highlight]
the ones in red are ones i need.
right now i use AveIconifier2, but it shrinks the png's when converting
any help would be appreciated.
All programs will shrink them. Icons have a maximum size restriction.
Why would you want larger than 256x256 anyways?
Irfanview can batch convert to ICO format. I'm pretty sure it throws off errors if you don't let it shrink them though.
EDIT: Never mind. I just made a 2048 x 1536 .ICO file with it AND assigned the icon to a shortcut. So now you know you CAN, although I don't know why you WOULD.
i meant that if its less than 256x256 (max size for a png ico) it still shrinks it.
the online ones dont.

Why exactly can't you use an image editor? Do you have 1000 files or something?
256x256 icons because you can have icons that big in vista.
