It's good to know 1 of the exclusives is quite bad.
Well, looks like I'm going back to Uranus Zone!
this looks like the only bad review
all the other sites are giving it 8s and 9s.

Shacknews is one of few that sometimes gives decent reviews, a lot like IGN are just paid off to give good reviews.

It's back to Willamette for me

Shacknews seems to be anti-Xbone still, judging by their other reviews.
How about instead of being shit consumers you read all the reviews before making a decision:

DR3 is good, but not great. Why are 7's now considered bad? And like user above said, Shacknews posted shit reviews for all the Xbox One launch line up.

United States grading scale.

There's a thing called ignoring the number and reading what the guy actually wrote.

That would require people to actually read it though.
Guess that's the main problem.
Seriously? QTE's with shaking a controller?
Of all the QTE bullshit out there those are the worst.
Rev3 gave it 3/5 stars.
...you'll try to trigger the next story-based mission or a specific side mission only to find that the next objective takes you to a sector on the opposite side of the map. This means you'll spend more time driving across town than actually engaging in anything meaningful, while popping up the map every five seconds in hopes that you don't get lost. And because of the nature of the story, many of the roads are barricaded, meaning that you'll drive down one path only to find it closed off, either requiring you to run through hundreds of zombies or turn around to drive down an alternate path. Either way, it's an incredibly time-consuming and tedious idea that becomes an increasingly integral part of the game. You'll often get calls for side missions, which involve fetch quests or psycho boss battles, but will rarely want to take part in them because they're so far away. Oh, so it's a Dead Rising game, got it
[editline]e[/editline]
making a mad dash across the map every time you leave the safehouse is not really anything new to the series if you're trying to save everyone
[editline]e[/editline]
removing the narrative countdown clock is a big change i guess, but personally i don't think that's a bad thing because the original two don't give you too much time to dick around without calling you an asshole for letting people you don't want to save anyway get killed

I've never driven around a lot in a DR game, short of using it in DR1 to level my character up quickly. I'd rather spend the time running around, but the map sounds huge.

I can understand waggling a wiimote because, hey, your hand naturally fits over the buttons anyway and if you have a nunchuck, you can still use your left (or right) hand to move or steer or whatever without much issue. Not to mention the Wii is known for waggle controls. Shoehorning in the emulation of a motherfucking samba with a more traditional (for what could be said of traditional with the Xbox One, anyway) controller to utilize a gyroscope for common zombie grabs? To hell with that.
I really want this game to fail. And this is coming from a fan of the series.

as a fan of video games i dont wish for any video game to fail. i want them all to be good and fun. to wish otherwise would be really dumb.

I want it to be a timed exclusive.

I watched gameplay of it at a videogame event, you just push the controller forward.
Much less work than fucking destroying your joystick.

why?
"waaah its on a console i don't want" isn't a valid reason btw
I have more issues with this game than it being on an exclusive console.
I actually like that they removed the time limit for missions. Sometimes it was just huge hassle to get from point A to B. It was okay in the first Dead Rising but I always wanted to take it at a slower pace.

I'm personally not particularly thrilled at those little reminders that pop up that say "HEY THERE'S A COLLECTABLE OVER THERE." Like I was okay with getting a notification of survivors popping up on screen but when you're giving me notifications of secrets, then they're not really secrets.
I'm also turned off how the reviewer mentions how much traveling there is to be done in this game via vehicle, vehicles were always something saved for a few locations and ultimately just a means of fucking around and murdering zombies rather than being the best way of getting around, now it seems like you're gonna NEED vehicles this go around, and playing in the traditional dead rising nightmare mode sounds like a bigger pain in the ass than it has ever been.
Edit:
and while I'm listing complaints I may as well list off one that doesn't necessarily affect gameplay but puts my titties in a twist: When you're low on HP, now you get the whole "Jam spattered onto the screen" bullshit like almost every fucking AAA game out there nowadays, what was wrong with just having the character hunching up and holding his side while moving?
The skateboard was the best way to move from A to B in the mall.
The skateboard was the best way to move from A to B in the mall.
Actually I preferred pushing the shopping cart, it didn't break when a zombie bumps into it, and when you get bored with it you could punt it at mach 20 and bowl over a few zombies with it, that shit was hilarious.
