I have a project which requires me to make a stop motion video, since the holidays are nearing, I have to use home materials. The only camcorder I own, is the Sony Handycam DCR-HC26.
I can't seem to find an option in the menu for stop motion, is there one hidden in there?
It has an option for "Recording Options", the only things to chose from are "SP", and "LP". I don't know what either of those are. It does have a photo button, should I just take a fuck load of images and slap them together in After Effects (No I don't own Premiere)?
Or is there a way to just take a normal video, and chop it up nicely in AE to look exactly like stop frame?

Just tried the Posterize effect, it kind of works, but it still shows blurry frames, in stop motion, there would be no blur.
I thought stop-motion pretty much just meant this..
Take pic
Move action figure
Repeat step 1-2 to make your story!
Never knew there was a stop-motion feature!?!?
What has the world come too?
take pictures, movie maker
I wasn't sure if there was a difference. Thanks.
