Honestly for me it was the opposite. I got a WP7 back in the day because of how promising it looked, but I had to dump it when development was dead less than a year after release.
I wish it was more popular and Microsoft didn't screw up so much on the development.
I use a Windows phone currently and I actually really like the OS. It had lots of potential imo, but I guess it doesn't matter anymore.
