It has a tonne of good reviews.

But I am frankly terrible at this sort of thing. I need to PCI-E, one for my GPU and one for my soundcard.
I do have an understanding, just not sure on the latest tech?
Any help appreciated!
Yes, the processor is last gen, and you can get the newest gen processor, motherboard and ram for the same amount of money:
CPU: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-404-IN
Motherboard: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-514-AS
RAM: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-363-CS
325$

Oh yeah and the motherboard will support the gpu and soundcard.

Another option.
This bundle will save you even more:

However it comes pre-overclocked but you get a nice cooler if it fits in your case.
That bundle Fisker linked is really nice, pretty sure you can actually call OCUK up and ask them to change anything you want, they build the bundle after all. You won't need to of course, the system there is a solid one, but you can if you would prefer to do so. Just wait 5-7 days default for them to build the bundle, test it and all that stuff and then send it to you and there you go!
By the way, it's nothing too serious but I just want to notify you:
"Updating the BIOS on the overclocked bundle range will void the warranty on the overclock. If you update the BIOS we will no longer be able to provide support for configuring and maintaining the CPU overclock."
As you can see there from the linked bundle Fisker gave, like all of the OCUK bundles, if you update the BIOS it will void the warranty on the over clock so if you're over clock is fucked up somehow, they are not obliged to help. Of course this doesn't affect the actual main warranty of 24 months of anything like that, just the over clock warranty. Even then you could just ask on their forums for help from other people anyway if you actually do void the over clock warranty so no bother.

Brilliant, thanks. I had that niggling feeling I would be making a mistake. Do you reckon I would need a powerful PSU to run this CPU?
It's not THAT bad of a mistake, a bit of a dated spec you suggested OP but it's always best to search around if you know the basics and know which are good components, you could actually have asked the OCUK (OverclockersUK) team on the phone, webnote, or ask on their forums where people/OCUK staff will help.
But anyway about the PSU, what is your current PSU by the way? You didn't say in the opening post.
That's pretty much the most updated spec you can get OP, 3570K CPU - Check, Z77 MB - Check, good 8GB RAM - Check and a nice cooler - Check, coupled that with a decent GPU and capable PSU and you're set!

Currently PSU is 430w and is a reliable brand, I can get a proper spec when I am home from work. I am getting the impression I'll probably need to upgrade that.
Also, that's good to know. I feel it is time to make this investment...
A processor draws very little power, so if you're only going to be using a processor and it's integrated graphics you won't need much power.
However if you're going to be running a graphics card in your computer, just google: "<card name> system wattage" and browse around a little to get a feeling of how much power your system will need.
But if the power required is around 290 you shouldn't be getting a 300w power supply because psu don't constantly run a maximum power. Most have a "80 percent" certificate which is a guarantee that it won't go below 80% efficiency. Example: 300w won't go under 260w.

A little reminder, the bundle offer is only available this week.
