Oh my god that picture
I wonder how long they can pan out the modern day storyline. I think they should just end it and scrap the animus stuff and just put us in the shoes of the actual assassin and not the modern day test subject in the shoes of the assassin.
Holy shit, an assassin's creed in ancient Egypt? Fuck yes, count me in.
that'd be fucking cool tbh [editline]13th October 2013[/editline] or rome that would be insane
that'd be fucking cool tbh [editline]13th October 2013[/editline] or rome that would be insane
Wasn't Brotherhood in Rome?
Oh my god that picture
Glad you approve!
Wasn't Brotherhood in Rome?
I think he means Rome in ancient times. Brotherhood played during the Renaissance.
I thought everyone was getting hyped about feudal Japan. What happened to that?
Please Ubisoft, scrap the modern day storyline, it's way to convoluted and ridiculous. It started really good but they turned it to shit with all the shitty endings and stupid plot devices. Also I want to stab more people and more freedom in the ways I can fulfill my goal.
Glad you approve!
I did have a bit of a chuckle when I saw it.
I thought everyone was getting hyped about feudal Japan. What happened to that?
As far as I remember it was just a fan concept.

I'd like to see the modern day Assassin's make an uneasy truce with Abstergo in an effort to fight Juno.[/sp]
I still really want to see a game set in Ancient Rome.
I thought Ubisoft already had a title set in Egypt that got leaked called Osiris [editline]13th October 2013[/editline] Here's the leaked video of it:
Feudal Japan, Victorian London, late 18th century France. All of these settings would fit the series really well and they're interesting as well.

With the apple and all the magic shit actually being magic. [editline]13th October 2013[/editline]
Feudal Japan, Victorian London, late 18th century France.
Victorian/Very Early 20th century would be fucking amazing, but really hard to pull off right.
To be honest, AC3 was set in time and location were parkour wouldn't make much sense and no one complained. Victorian London would be fine as well. The "problem" is you would need to focus the combat more towards hand-to-hand because swords weren't as popular. Thinking about it though makes me want it even more if done right. Think the new Sherlock with RDJ.
Parkour like an Egyptian.
Feudal Japan, Victorian London, late 18th century France. All of these settings would fit the series really well and they're interesting as well.
Feudal Japan doesn't have the large buildings or urban centers necessary for Assassin's Creed.
the pyramids are a Templar conspiracy set up by the Greys
I assume that if they do go to ancient Egypt, it would focus on Amunet, the assassin who killed Cleopatra. Another female assassin main character would be most welcome. Only problem is that according to the AC storyline, the Hidden Blade was not invented and used for assassination until the 5th Century BCE, by Darius, against king Xerxes I. Amunet lived at around 30 BCE, 25 years before. I highly doubt the series would ever go without a hidden blade, given it's the iconic weapon of the series. Though, Amunet's method of assassination by using an snake could somehow work as a hidden weapon, perhaps by concealing the snake under a sleeve?
An Assassin's Creed game during the Japanese occupation of Korea would be awesome. yes please
Though, Amunet's method of assassination by using an snake could somehow work as a hidden weapon, perhaps by concealing the snake under a sleeve?
Oh man that would be the best weapon, a snake that can block swords, be used like a deadly whip or use it's venom to bite a target and then watch as they slowly die minutes later.
It's probably not a well-known enough time period for the casuals though. I mean there's a reason Ubisoft went for MURRICAN FREEDOMS FUCK THE BRITISH WE PATRIOTS NOW YEEEEEEEEAH! in AC3 instead of, y'know, portraying any of the actual interesting conflict like the Native Americans being supported by the British, or the Spanish and French forces spurring on the conflict by providing armaments and even, supposedly, doing covert sabotage attempts on British settlements. Now THAT would have been interesting. Y'know, instead of "WHERE'S CHARLES LEE: The Game"
Ah true, since every past Assassin's Creed game has chosen a period that most people would know about i.e. the crusades, the renaissance (imo the most obscure one for the 'casuals') and the AMERICAN REVOLUTION. Such a shame since there's tons of interesting shit in history that would be perfect for an AC game. But a man can dream.
Ancient Egypt as a setting isn't too different from the previous AC games though. I'd much prefer to see something more radical, ala
An Assassin's Creed game during the Japanese occupation of Korea would be awesome.
or perhaps Feudal Japan.
You know, while I do still like the idea of Feudal Japan, and while I do believe they do have the ability to pull it off, I really can't help but believe that the whole era's been overplayed by... well, a lot of games in general, really. Japan's an interesting country with a long and rich history, but I believe that if they ever were to set a story in Japan, they should go for one of the other eras instead. My personal favorite for a possible AC game in Japan would be the Boshin War, that was an integral part of the Meiji Restoration and the whole "modernization" of Japan. The war was between the Shogunate, who were diminishing in popularity and usefulness in the Japanese political system, and the Imperial family, ruled by Emperor Meiji. I think this would be a great period for an AC game to take place, due to the whole nature of the conflict, and the whole shaking up of the Japanese system. Such a scenario would be the perfect playground for the Templars to interfere in. Not to mention that in history, it was an event that was exploited by the European powers as well, such as Britain and France. I just personally love the idea of an AC game taking place during such an important time in Japan's history, with the dying breed of Samurai and the rise of the Imperial Family. It would be a unique concept, at least. The only other game that actually touched on this period was the Total War Shogun 2 expansion, 'Fall of the Samurai'.
Wait nevermind. My bad.
What happened to Black Flag? I haven't heard news on it in ages. If this Ubisoft page is accurate: http://assassinscreed.ubi.com/en-us/home/index.aspx AC4 IS Black Flag. The article's title is off.
um. no it isn't?
woops
